11th Hour Leadership - Adapted from Paul Reynolds by Pastor John Koonce

Born leaders usually have a common thread of acquired qualities and characteristics. Here are a few.

Poise            Aggressiveness        Insight         Discipline          Enthusiasm

Persistence         Ambition           Optimism           Creativity       Friendliness

Decisiveness                   Integrity

                                                                        And the list goes on!

Note this: God does not always pick a model leader.

·       Moses was an ill tempered insecure reactionary

·       Peter had "foot and mouth" disease

·       Jacob was a smart quick minded shyster

The main question of this lesson is this: What leadership qualities did God see in you?

1. Eleventh hour leaders must have spiritual self assurance.

Hebrews 10:37,38

37 For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.

Don't draw back!

·       What caused David to look Goliath in the eye?

·       What caused Caleb to say, "We are able…?"

·       What caused Jocabed to disobey the orders of Pharoah and hide baby Moses?

Never forget-

                     We are-

                                  God's Apostolic-

                                                                     MEN!

2. Eleventh hour leaders must be fitly framed

Ephesians 2:21

21 In whom all the building fitly framed together

That's another way of saying well-balanced!

·      Balance is the art of honesty

·      Honesty is the foundation of character

·      Character determines true and lasting success

Explore balancing.

·      The beauty of holiness with the spirit of peace

·      Nurture (love) and admonition (discipline)

·      Prosperity and adversity

·      Evangelism's lengthening of cords with strengthening of stakes

·      Christian freedom with the laws of God

The journey of BALANCE will bring self assurance and confidence to your ministry!

3. Eleventh hour leaders must possess stability

     James 5:8

8 Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.

Faithfulness and steadfastness are major subjects of concern in the Bible.

Instability produces:

·       Flabby and uncontrolled lifestyles.

·       Unfulfilled goals

·      Restless and insecure families

David chose to be stable and established!

Psalm 57:7

7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.

Job chose to be stable and established!

Job 13:15

15 Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.

Paul preached stability!

1 Corinthians 15:5

5 And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve:

Be planted !

4. Eleventh hour leaders must be church consumed

                                                             Hebrews 10:25

25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.

If you see the rapture approaching:

·      Not less church – MORE!

·      Assemble together – MORE!

·      Refuse to be mentored by "less church" manner men. Rather by "more church" men.

When we go to church, something happens.

·      It's a together place

·      It's a sinner saving place

·      It's a Holy Ghost healing place

·      It's a Jesus name baptizing place

·       It's a healing place

5. Eleventh hour leaders must be labor intensive

Matthew 9:37,38

37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;

38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

2 Thessalonians 2:10

10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

A Godly leader –

·      finds biblical instruction to work

·      finds mental and physical fulfillment in work

·      finds a harvest when he has worked

SO WORK!
